Undergraduate Admissions Requirements Policy

First-time freshman candidates must complete the admissions application and submit it with a non-refundable application fee. Some programs may have specific admission criteria. Current programs with specific criteria are Accounting, Actuarial Science, Applied Mathematics, Education, Engineering, Finance and Nursing. See Change of Major/Program Policy for specifics. Freshmen applicants must submit the following:
  1. An official high school transcript or a General Equivalency Diploma (GED) indicating successful completion of the program. The Admission Review Committee gives preference to students with a minimum 3.0 high school GPA.

  2. Official report of combined SAT or ACT scores. Preference is given to candidates who score a minimum combined SAT of 1000 (Critical Reading/Math) or a composite ACT score of 22.
Transfer Students

Candidates for admission who have studied at another institution of higher education are welcome to enter Robert Morris at any level of study. Transfer applicants must complete the admissions application, submit it with a non-refundable application fee, and have official transcripts submitted from each institution previously attended. Transfer applicants having fewer than 30 academic credits or with a University grade point average below 2.00 must also submit an official copy of their high school transcript and test results. All claims for transfer credit must be indicated at the time of admission.

Applicants in good academic standing, generally defined as 2.00 average or better on a 4.00 scale, may qualify for admission. The admissions committee, however, is also interested in the applicant's performance in courses specifically related to their intended academic major.

International Students must submit the following additional information:
  1. SAT or ACT scores are not required for international students. If you have taken SAT or ACT tests, arrange to have the scores sent directly to Robert Morris University.

  2. Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score is required if English is not the student's first language. Preference is given to undergraduate applicants with scores of 500 or above.

  3. International applicants must demonstrate means of financial support by providing an Affidavit of Financial Support.
